What helps or hinders the partnership?

INTERCULTURAL EXPERIENCES: PARENT-EDUCATOR PARTNERSHIP SOLUTIONS

The key conditions will always help this partnership.

Being close minded when dealing with something that you as a educator do not agree with can hinder this partnership.

Sometimes what a parent does at home and what is done in the Kindergarten will be different, but it is important to understand that it is their child, not yours.

This can cause frustration, but it is important to overcome conflicting ideas and work together with the parent and find a solution.

General disagreements between educators and parents can occur.

This must lead to conversations and or meetings to find common ground.

Open communication is helpful and important.

Find out about the escalation policy in the institution, so help deal with arising problems with parents. Educators from abroad should learn about the child protection laws in their new country.
