Poor treatment of educator

Parent-Educator Source, Conflict and Solution

Parents may have personal differences with the educator or perceive the early childhood profession as babysitting. This can lead to conflicts and the parents treating educators poorly, increasing demands, threats and altercations.

It is important to report any altercations, threats or concerns to a supervisor or management and ensure this is dealt with appropriately. Good relationships with parents are a vital tool in a holistic approach to children’s development but this should not come at a detriment to an educator’s wellbeing.
