What is Non-verbal Communication?

Communication always requires that at least two people are involved in the process.

We distinguish between the sender of a message and the recipient. There are different channels through which communication occurs:

  • Acoustic (what you can hear)

  • Visual (what you can see)

  • Tactile (what you can touch)

  • Emotional (what you can feel)

*These channels show how closely non-verbal communication is linked to relationships and emotions, making it extremely relevant to working with young children.
